EIT RawMaterials is Europe’s largest innovation community dedicated to the raw materials sector, supported by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), a body of the European Union. Its mission is to drive innovation, education, and entrepreneurship across the entire raw materials value chain, from mining and processing to recycling and substitution, to secure a sustainable and competitive supply of raw materials for Europe’s economy. Through strategic funding calls and challenges, This particular funding call represents a targeted innovation challenge designed to accelerate high-impact projects within the raw and advanced materials sector. Funding opportunities range from EUR 0.5 million to EUR 2.5 million depending on the project scale and maturity
The Challenge
The current call aims to support start-ups, scale-ups, and established projects that focus on innovation in mining, extraction, processing, and recycling of raw materials. The challenge seeks to identify initiatives that demonstrate strong market relevance, technological readiness, and the potential to enhance Europe’s supply chain resilience. Eligible applicants include innovative seed-stage companies, growth-stage SMEs, and advanced mining or recycling projects capable of addressing critical raw materials shortages and environmental concerns. By leveraging EIT RawMaterials’ extensive industry network and expertise, the challenge intends to foster sustainable growth, boost circularity, and secure Europe’s strategic autonomy in raw materials for the future.
