In less than a year, InnoNext, one of the new initiatives from the EIC Business Acceleration Services, has evolved into a vibrant and expanding network within the European innovation ecosystem, successfully connecting over 580 talents with and more than 240 startups and SMEs from 27 different countries.
The initiative was created to bridge the gap between research and entrepreneurship through fully funded innovation internships that turn academic knowledge into market-ready solutions.
From research to real-world innovation
By facilitating internships that are easy to activate and fully supported, InnoNext offers a tangible opportunity for both talents and companies to collaborate on real innovation challenges.
To date, more than 70 innovation internships have been activated ranging from clean energy and AI to sustainable agriculture, biotech, circular economy and beyond.
The platform is continuously evolving.
Most recently, it has opened its doors to MSCA-funded companies, who are now eligible to host top-tier talents from across the entire InnoNext talent pool, including EIC beneficiaries, EIT, ERC and Horizon Europe programmes.
EIC innovators on board
Among the many participants, several EIC-funded companies have already joined InnoNext and are engaging with highly qualified talents:
-
AquaB Nanobubble Innovations (Denmark) pioneers nanobubble solutions to improve water quality and boost sustainability in aquaculture.
Their current focus is on engineering and product development optimising the manufacturing, testing, and industrialisation of their nano bubble generators to scale up impact and efficiency.
-
CorPower Ocean (Sweden) is advancing a new generation of wave energy converters for offshore renewables.
Through InnoNext, they are enhancing their capabilities in energy system modelling developing carbon and cost-optimal scenarios for wave energy integration in industrial use cases such as data centres and electrolysers. - Eye4NIR (Italy) develops compact spectroscopy tools for real-time, contactless analysis across industrial sectors.
With InnoNext, they are exploring new market applications in VIS/SWIR imaging for industrial automation and aerospace, strengthening their go-to-market strategy with targeted analysis and insights.
These are just a few examples of companies that have joined InnoNext to find exceptional talents and accelerate their innovation agendas.
