Public Procurement Procedure - Smarter Italy: enhancing cultural tourism
AgID – Agency for Digital Italy
About
The Agency for Digital Italy (AgID), the technical agency for the Presidency of the Council of Ministers that guarantees the achievement of the objectives of the Italian digital agenda, has launched a €10 million Pre-Commercial Procurement (PCP) to support the development of digital solutions and services for the socio-economic growth of peripheral communities—through the creation and enhancement of cultural tourism destinations.
Funded by the Ministry of University and Research (POC “Research and Innovation 2014–2020”) and promoted under the Smarter Italy initiative, this PCP is a multi-stage, multi-awardee procedure. In Phase I, up to €3 million will be awarded to a maximum of eight contractors. In later phases, selected bidders will continue testing their solutions with the remaining budget.
The Challenge
“Digital solutions and services for the socio-economic development of peripheral territorial communities through the creation and enhancement of cultural tourism destinations” Challenge focuses on transforming peripherical and lesser-known territorial areas into smart, sustainable cultural tourism hubs, unlocking their potential with digital innovation that connects, empowers, and revitalizes communities. The innovative solutions sought by this challenge will have to contribute to the creation of an ecosystem capable of intercepting large tourist flows and better integrating with the geography of the territories to foster their social and economic growth through the enhancement of the artistic-cultural heritage present.
