On 29 April 2020 1.00-2.30 pm (CET) the European Innovation Council (EIC) and the European Business Angel Network (EBAN) will jointly host an ePitching session with Investors on eHealth. Five EIC-funded SMEs will pitch their innovations to representatives from Business Region Göteborg, Lincs, Peppermint Ventures, Rockies Impact Fund Society, Entrepreneurship Advisor Maria Hala and Seed Investor Stephan Roecker.
The EIC and EBAN regularly join forces to give EIC-funded companies the chance to pitch and compete during this ScaleUp of the Month/ePitching with Investors. Next weeks’ event will mark the fifth edition. The winner of this session receives complimentary passes and a pitching slot to one of EBAN's flagship events, as well as premium visibility within the EBAN network. A prize well worth competing for! The following five EIC-funded companies have been selected to showcase their eHealth innovation:
Bambi Belt, operating from the Netherlands, is developing the Bambi Belt Solution, a wireless neonatal vital signs monitoring system that will help reduce stress and pain and support Kangaroo Mother Care for premature babies. The Bambi Belt Solution is skin-friendly and sensors integrated inside the belt measure critical data in a non-intrusive way, while a Bluetooth enabled sensor module sends the data to portable monitor.
UK-based BrainPatch is a neurotechnology company developing two-way brain-computer interfaces for recording and for affecting the brain. They are a team of neuroscientists, physicists and AI engineers using the latest technologies and experimenting with how they could make the lives of patients with neurological disorders (Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, chronic pain) as well as ordinary people easier.
Israel’s Carmel Diagnostics presents an innovative Embryo Selection system for IVF process. Fertissimo TCL Analyzer is a powerful enabling system that highlights the most viable embryos to conceive in IVF induced pregnancy. It utilises proprietary Oxidative Stress (OS) technology that systemically increases probability of IVF pregnancy against an existing landscape needing multiple IVF cycles to conceive.
1 in 3 cancers diagnosed is skin cancer. Miiskin, based in Denmark, designed a platform to assist people with identifying changes in their skin and moles by using images taken over time with their smartphone. Miiskin is the most recommended product by clinical stakeholders, in the world with 500,000 downloads, thousands of customers and growing. Moreover they are approved by the NHS in the UK.
Spain’s MJN-SERAS created the first wearable device for Epilepsy able to record the brain activity, process it with artificial intelligence algorithms and send a warning to the user before the onset of the seizure. The user can then move to a safe place to prevent accidents and injuries from the epileptic seizure.
