The event featured an impressive panel of jury investors, as well as companies. The selected startups to present their solutions were DigiFarm, Ekkono Solutions AB, Iris.ai, Skyfora, Transmetrics, Treble Technologies and Xelera Technologies.
During the session, Trebble, a sound simulation platform enabling virtual prototyping of sound-based designs, was recognized as the best pitch of the afternoon. The software can be used in various industries such as building, car and product designs.
What’s in it for SaaS investors?
The ePitching session featured an impressive panel of jury investors, including representatives from Balderton Capital, Caixa Capital Risc, eCapital, Elaia Partners, Experior Venture Fund, High-Tech Gründerfonds, Inventure, Iris Capital, Matterwave Ventures, NGP Capital, Octopus Ventures, Partech Partners, Point Nine Capital, Redalpine, Robert Bosch Venture Capital GmbH and Target Global.
This exquisite selection of innovators was also noted by investors and companies attending.
Mira Kamp, from Redalpine Venture Partners, highlighted the quality and depth of knowledge of the participants.
“I was quite impressed by, first, the number of investors that joined the meeting, but also, secondly, by the companies that joined. The companies were really in different verticals. The topic was SaaS, but all of them were offering really different solutions. I liked that they were very technical and had such a deep technical foundation. - Mira Kamp, Redalpine Venture Partners.
Redalpine’s jury member also pointed out the presentation standards, in a feature she also thinks will grant investments for startups pitching.
“All of them actually did a fantastic presentation. You could really tell that they have been doing this for quite some time, that they're quite experienced in doing that. And throughout all of the companies, the pictures were quite fantastic. I definitely think that some of these companies will end up raising capital ”. – Mira Kamp, Redalpine Venture Partners.
To Finnur Pind, Co-founder and CEO of Trebble, attending the ePitching was also a great choice.
“The event seemed a great opportunity to be in contact with a lot of prominent investors to network and sow some seeds for future fundraising efforts. Expectations were definitely met. The event was attended by many prominent investors.” - Finnur Pind, Trebble
For Anita Schjøll Abildgaard, the CEO and co-founder of Iris.ai, recently selected under the EIC Accelerator, the expectations for the event were definitely met.
"The jury members were superb. They were friendly and professional and had really good questions". – Anita Schjøll Abildgaard, Iris.ai
Iris.ai builds smart tools for R&D professionals, dealing with factuality and AI. “In the bigger picture we are dealing with factuality and AI, so AI solutions that kind of actually track and trace and keep track of facts", explains Anita.
The key advantage of Iris.ai, when in comparison to other language models, is that it gets the facts straight.
“We've been doing research and development and had been in this space for seven years. And of course, in the last few months, there's a lot of exciting things happening, especially around Chat GPT and other large language models. But the main challenge with these large language models is that they are not very good at sticking to facts. And that is kind of fundamentally the problem we're solving with what we call a smart language model, not a large language model”, stresses Anita.
