Open Call - EIC Investor Day @ EIC Summit: Scaling up your industry/business

On the 24 (from 3:45PM to 5:15PM CET) and 25 (from 11:00AM to 12:30PM & from 1:30PM to 3:00PM CET) November 2021, the European Innovation Council (EIC) Business Acceleration Services will organise a two-day EIC Investor Day, taking place during the yearly EIC Summit . This EIC Investor Day will be dedicated to the EU Green Deal (Agritech and Climate Change), ICT (Robotics and SaaS for consumers), and Health (Medtech/E-Health and Biotech & Pharmaceuticals). We’re looking for EIC innovators to pitch their innovations to countless top-tier investors in those sectors, engage in business meetings with them and explore new opportunities.

The EIC Summit is the yearly highlight for Europe’s finest innovators, be it start-ups, scale-ups, researchers, corporates, investors or venture capitalists. The European Commissioner Mariya Gabriel will open this one-and-a-half-day hybrid event filled with inspiring keynotes, workshops, pitching sessions, and prestigious EIC prizes. 

During this feast of innovation, we will host our EIC Investor Day, featuring a wealth of different investors from all over Europe (more info on the attending investors below). Don’t miss this unique opportunity to network, make business contacts and perhaps obtain that long-awaited funding round!

EIC Investor Day: Who can apply?

For those companies selected, this exclusive service will include specific training, pitching, pre-arranged meetings with high-level European investors and the possibility to network with like-minded innovators in a dedicated online event.
 

The event will feature panel discussions and six pitching sessions and is open to all EIC companies. For those wanting to participate in the pitching sessions, the companies applying should be looking to raise seed or series A investment rounds and have a focus on one of the following topics:

  • Topic 1: Green Deal 

    • Agritech
    • Climate Change
  • Topic 2: ICT 

    • Robotics
    • Software-as-a-Service for consumers
  • Topic 3: Healthcare 

    • Medtech & E-Health
    • Biotech & Pharmaceuticals

 

The EIC companies not focusing on the above-listed areas cannot apply to the pitching session but are welcome to attend the different panel talks throughout the day.

Opportunities for selected EIC-funded SMEs

By attending this event you will have the chance to:

  • Personalised online training on pitching techniques and investors specifications before the event.

To have the opportunity to be selected for this event you need to update or create your profile on our matchmaking tool ScaleUp EU. Access to this tool is given by default to the Primary Coordinator (PCoCo). Make sure to fill in all the information in the Investor profile sought section and upload your pitch deck.

Based on the applications, a jury panel of experts and investors will select the most suitable companies to maximise the benefits and ensure the effectiveness of the pitching sessions and one-to-one meetings.
 
The Business Acceleration Services will contact all applicants once the selection process has been concluded. However, this contact does not include feedback or recommendations to EIC companies not selected.

 

Additional information

EIC Business Acceleration Services 

The Business Acceleration Services provided are free of charge. All participants are expected to fill out a brief satisfaction survey shortly after the event, and a business impact survey after six months. Failure to do so may lead to exclusion from future Business Acceleration Services. 
 

Cancellation policy 

Cancellations will only be considered in duly documented cases of “force majeure”. Unjustified cancellation can lead to exclusion in future Business Acceleration Services events.
