Open Call: Bring your climate innovation closer to market with EIT Climate-KIC

Would you like to scale your climate innovation from research to application while improving your business and innovation management skills? We will work with you to help turn your technology into an innovation project that supports the EU Green Deal.

 

 

As part of the RACE project, EIT Climate-KIC is collaborating with the European Innovation Council (EIC) Business Acceleration Services to offer you a new programme. Up to 10 early-stage research innovation teams, former and/or current EIC Beneficiaries from Pathfinder, Innovation Launchpad and/or Transition (including FET H2020 projects) have the chance to be part of it. 

Are you interested? EIT Climate-KIC will prepare your climate innovation for market uptake through a tailor-made programme.

If selected, you will receive individual coaching/mentoring, pitch training, peer-to-peer sessions, workshops and online learning materials. Plus, gain access to the global network of EIT Climate-KIC. 

The programme is funded by EIC and free for participants.

 

What will you get? 

  • EIT Climate-KIC services:
    • EIT Climate-KIC helps you to focus on valorisation and application of your research as well as the social benefits of your innovation
    • Connecting you with cities, regions, companies and/or potential end users for your innovation/technology; other funding opportunities and European Incubation and Acceleration services  
  • Tailor-made activities based on your needs:
    • Climate Innovation Management
    • Entrepreneurship training 
    • Sectorial 1:1 coaching and mentoring services
    • Pitch training and the opportunity to present your innovation to the wider public and potential collaborators

 

Key dates for participating start-ups/researchers/innovators

July-September 2022: Applications and Selection. Applications are currently open. The selection interviews will take place in the coming weeks. 

October, November and December 2022: Programme activities (online)

  • Kick-Off Event 
  • Peer-to-peer Sessions and Group Workshops
  • Online Entrepreneurship Training
  • Individual Coaching Sessions 
  • Spotlight Event to pitch your innovation and connect with potential investors, customers, collaborators, etc.

 

Who can participate/apply?

We are looking for: 

  • Former and/or current EIC Beneficiaries from Pathfinder, Innovation Launchpad and/or Transition (including FET H2020 projects) with innovations that have a climate impact potential and are aligned with the European Green Deal. Two representatives of each project team can participate in the programme. 
  • Committed researchers, innovators, start-ups, SMES and consortia that have an IP and want to develop a business model and/or start-up, or are willing to cooperate with serial entrepreneurs to bring the innovation to market.
  • Maturity: Technology Readiness Level TRL level 3 or above. Business Readiness Level BRL open.

Provided you meet the eligibility criteria, you will be invited to a 30-min conversation with the EIT Climate-KIC implementation team. A maximum of 10 projects (2 team representatives per project) will be selected.
