The Azienda Regionale per l’Innovazione e gli Acquisti of Lombardy Region (ARIA) in Italy has issued a tender for the development of trials aimed at using satellite connections as a complementary solution to fiber. The tender is an open, multi-lot procedure, divided into two lots based on geographical areas.

The Challenge

The challenge is aimed to develop and implement satellite-based ultra-broadband connectivity solutions that can complement fiber connections. This includes providing, installing, and maintaining the necessary equipment and services for these satellite connections, with a focus on full-risk maintenance and ensuring reliable connectivity. The aim is to enhance high-speed internet access by conducting experimentation with satellite technology as part of the National Ultra-Broadband Strategy 2023-2026.
