The European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA) has launched a call for applications targeting stakeholders that would like to be part of an ad-hoc expert group on Enterprise Security. The group will work together to understand how European SMEs can enhance their knowledge and acquire skills on cybersecurity-related topics, mainly to improve their safety.

One of ENISA's objectives, in its role as the European Union (EU) Agency for Cybersecurity, is to increase SMEs cybersecurity skills by performing capacity building activities. Furthermore, the agency aims to raise European SMEs' cybersecurity awareness on common threats and risks to support them in implementing their online businesses more safely. With the ad-hoc working group on "Enterprise Security", ENISA will be better prepared to assist companies with their cybersecurity needs. It will be able to build a knowledge base about SMEs' cybersecurity characteristics.
In this context, ENISA is looking for stakeholders, coming from the EU Member States, to support the agency in gathering relevant inputs on the cybersecurity context of the SMEs, including topics such as:
- Cybersecurity policy.
- Technical and organisational security measures.
- Market aspects of cybersecurity (e.g. standards, best practices, security-by-design, standards, etc.).
- Capacity building, awareness-raising, risk management.
- Cybersecurity threats and risk and their mitigation measures.

The key tasks of the ad-hoc working group will include the following:
- Advising ENISA on developing knowledge on the issues and needs of SMEs.
- Advising ENISA on developing best practices on how SMEs should tackle cybersecurity issues and risks.
- Advising ENISA on awareness activities for SMEs and potential training sessions could help raise their cybersecurity posture and know-how.
- Advising ENISA on materials such as tools, reports and other related material.
- Reviewing and validating related ENISA deliverables.
- Advising ENISA in carrying out its tasks about this topic.
- Participating in workshops and teleconferences for the abovementioned activities.
