On 26-27 June 2023, the European Innovation Council (EIC) Business Acceleration Services and AB InBev hosted a physical EIC Corporate Day in Leuven, Belgium. This initiative gave the opportunity to EIC-backed innovators to network and pitch their business solutions related to AB InBev’s 5 proposed challenges.

Taking place at the corporate’s Global Innovation and Technology Centre (GITEC) building in Leuven, Belgium, 12 EIC-selected beneficiaries provided innovative solutions to the challenges AB InBev presented on Co-products, Bioprocesses, Health & Wellness, Packaging circularity and Dispense in front of the corporate’s representatives. The EIC Corporate Day with AB InBev was also a way for the attending EIC beneficiaries and corporate representatives to meet, connect and engage in several business meetings.

This initiative counted with the presence of EIC and EISMEA representatives, including the EIC Board President, Michiel Scheffer. When asked about the importance of the collaboration with AB InBev for this EIC Corporate Day and the positive impact initiatives like these can have, he stated: “Within the framework of the EIC Corporate Partnership programme and based on the previous successful editions, we collaborate with AB InBev for the 3rd time on an EIC Corporate Day, and it’s often by repeating it, that we really learn from each other. I strongly support the collaboration of startups and scaleups with corporations, and it will be one of my priorities during my EIC presidency.”
