To celebrate women in innovation, tech, and business, the European Innovation Council (EIC) is glad to invite you to the Awards Ceremony of the 1st cohort of the Women Leadership Programme (WLP). It aims to highlight and promote the success this pilot programme has had from October 2021 to March 2022.

Let’s celebrate together: register here (applications are open until 7 April 2022)!

Our virtual Awards Ceremony will take place on Friday, 8 April 2022. This initiative is open to everyone who’s interested and will shed extra light on our 50 innovators and celebrate their achievements during this Women Leadership Programme journey.

During six months, 50 EIC-funded female innovators were part of this skills enhancement programme composed of elements such as 1) Training Sessions, 2) Networking Events, 3) Mentoring Scheme, and 4) Business Coaching Scheme. The existing diversity of geographical aspects and profiles enriched this 1st cohort and guaranteed the success of the Programme with its high rates of engagement.

In addition, it will help us understand more about what was implemented under each service of the programme with our trailblazing female innovators. Let’s make sure the female leadership is empowered for the next generations!

Additional Information

About the EIC Women Leadership Programme

Women-led companies are on the rise. The participation of women in deep tech is not only a matter of fairness but an important case of using Europe’s full potential of excellence in science and businesses. The EIC proactively seized this great opportunity for growth: the latest EIC Accelerator calls stated that at least 25% of applications invited for the second stage of evaluation should come from women (co)founded or led companies. As a result, the number of selected women (co) founded and led companies went from 7% to 34% (compared to the previous EIC-call). This contributed to an overall increase in the female-led companies from 8% to 15% (blended finance calls only).

To further build upon this, the EIC is offering a dedicated mentoring programme, the EIC Women Leadership Programme (WLP), which aims to level the playing field in scalable businesses and mindsets by unlocking potential and breaking down barriers to success!
