Navigating the ESG legislation - What implications for carbon removal projects in Europe?

In February 2024, the European Commission introduced new ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) ratings legislation to help companies assess their environmental impact and boost investor confidence in sustainable practices. This includes encouraging carbon removal projects like forest conservation. While carbon and biodiversity credits can aid in offsetting emissions, concerns about the transparency and effectiveness of these credits persist.
