About

As part of the EIC Tech to Market (T2M) Entrepreneurship Programme, the European Innovation Council (EIC) invites EIC Pathfinder (former FET-Open and FET-Proactive), EIC Transition and ERC-POC beneficiaries to apply for the EIC T2M Innovation Discovery Training. The new batch will kick off in February 2024.

The EIC T2M Innovation Discovery Training will take place on the 12th and 16th of February 2024, during two half-days (mornings), that consist of collective sessions that will help deep-tech scientists gain a basic understanding of entrepreneurship skills and how to pitch their project.

The former participants found the training very informative and enriching, illuminating the path from innovative ideas to market-readiness products. The inclusion of testimony from someone who recently transitioned from a similar academic background added practical relevance to the training. Insightful advice from competent and dedicated experts was particularly beneficial, offering diverse perspectives and valuable guidance to strengthen the project's pitch.

What to expect from it?

During two half-days, the EIC T2M Innovation Discovery Training aims to help researchers get a first idea of what it means to start a venture out of a scientific breakthrough.

It will be based on a dual approach: a) an overview of important topics done by entrepreneurship experts combined with b) real life feedback from an entrepreneur, done in an interactive fashion.

This will help attendees understand all the important elements of a deep-tech pitch, and craft one for their project. This pitch will then be discussed in a collective coaching session, allowing attendees to get feedback from experts and other attendees.

The subjects covered will comprise business models, identifying customers, market sizing, Intellectual Property and funding and will be followed by a talk from a science entrepreneur.

When will it be held?

There will be two sessions of training, the first on 12th February and the second one on 16th February, both in the morning from 9:00 to 13:00 CET.

Who can apply?

The application for this initiative is open only to EIC Pathfinder (ex. FET-Open and FET-Proactive), EIC Transition, and ERC-POC beneficiaries. Several representatives of consortium/projects can apply separately.

Please note that projects from all domains and sectors are welcome to apply.

The availability is limited, and participation will be reviewed based on application time (first come first served basis selection).
