Open call: EIC ePitching with Investors on COVID-19 @ R&I Days

After the overwhelming interest for the EIC ePitching with Investors on COVID-19 in April 2020, the EIC is organising another opportunity to pitch your COVID-relation innovation to Europe’s top investors. This second edition will be in collaboration with Wolves Summit and will take place during the annual European Research and Innovations Days. All EIC-backed SMEs that are working on innovative solutions to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic are welcome to apply.

 

After the selection process, a limited number of EIC-backed up SMEs will have the chance to show their innovative solutions via an online tool to a jury of investors on 24 September 2020 11.00 – 12.35 pm CET. For this edition we have gathered investors from nine different EU-countries, including representatives from Capricorn PartnersHightech GrunderfondsIndustrifondenKurma PartnersMustard Seed MAZEPanakes PartnersSeroba Life SciencesSofinnova Partners and Ysios Capital.

What’s in it for you? 

This exclusive service will include specific training and will be an excellent opportunity to  pitch to top-notch investors and exchange experiences with fellow EIC companies.

You will benefit from:

  • An ePitch on your COVID-related innovation in front of a number of specifically chosen investors 
  • Taking advantage of exploring the tool ScaleUp EU in order to find further matches;
  • Once you create your profile, you will be considered for all of our future activities and events, meaning you can be chosen by an investor in another roundevent, unless you indicate to us you are not interested.

 

Prize

It wouldn’t be a true pitching contest without a prize. Wolves Summit is happy to sponsor this edition’s prize by awarding the winning startup with:

A fast-track straight to the Grand Pitching Contest as part of Wolves Summit's 12 edition on 5-7 October (more information on the Summit below).

The package of benefits will include:

  • Subsidised travel and accommodation for 1 company representative (within Europe)
  • 3x complimentary tickets for other startups members
  • Free access to all stages, online sessions, and 1-2-1 networking events with investors
  • *The prize for the Grand Pitching Contest is yet to be announced. The winners of the previous editions received €50,000 in funding (no equity).

Who can apply?

EIC funded companies working in the fields of:

  • Public health research related to the COVID-19 pandemic, including the development of vaccines, therapeutics and diagnostics, devices among other innovations

 

How can you be selected?

In order to have the opportunity to be selected for this event, you need to update or create your profile on our matchmaking tool ScaleUp EU. Access to this tool is given by default to the Primary Coordinator (PCoCo). Wolves Summit 

Wolves Summit is one of the world’s leading startup conferences and the largest tech event in Central and Eastern Europe. European Research and Innovation Days

European Research and Innovation Days, taking place from 22 to 24 September 2020, is the European Commission’s annual flagship event, bringing together policymakers, researchers, entrepreneurs and citizens to debate and shape the future of research and innovation in Europe and beyond.

 

EIC Business Acceleration Services

The Business Acceleration Services provided are free of charge.  All participants are expected to fill out a brief satisfaction survey shortly after the event, and a business impact survey after six months. Failure to do so may lead to exclusion from future Business Acceleration Services.
