Once again the European Commission will take part in Ecomondo, the annual trade fair for the green and circular economy. The expo will take place in Rimini, Italy, from 5 to 8 November 2019. The event will bring together all sectors of the circular economy, from material and energy recovery to sustainable development.

Following this year’s main topics, the EIC projects presented in this event are related to food waste, sustainable buildings and plastics management innovation domains:

 Food Waste

  • XSpectra: It is the most advanced real time inspection system for food safety and quality controls.

  • KoolZone: Refrigeration control technology to minimise food waste, avoid food poisoning and minimise energy consumption.

  • WineLeather: Innovative biomaterials production from wine industry waste.

 Sustainable Buildings

  • LTT: Long-term testing of airtightness to increase energy efficiency in buildings.

  • MOGU floor: Natural-grown flooring for circular buildings. MOGU floor is a 100% biobased tile made from agricultural or industrial residual biomass.

  • ODORPREP: Real time, automatic and remote-activated sampling system for industrial odour emissions compliant with the European Standard EN 13725.

Plastics Management

  • FlexPack2Circle: This EIC pilot funded project is a timely action to address the EU directives to stop incineration and landfilling and to recover secondary raw materials.

Here you can find the full agenda of all the participating projects managed by EASME, which have received funding from from one of the programmes that EASME implements on behalf of the European Commission: Horizon 2020 Energy Efficiency, Horizon 2020 Environment, COSME, LIFE, EMFF and the  European Innovation Council pilot

Ecomondo visitors will also have the opportunity to meet EASME representatives  and the European Commission for one-to-one meetings about the funding opportunities available.

The fair attracts over 116,000 visitors and 1,200 exhibitors each year. Alongside Ecomondo, a large exhibition, the Key Energy Expo, will feature energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions and applications.
