As part of the EIC Tech to Market Entrepreneurship Programme, the European Innovation Council (EIC) invites EIC Pathfinder (former FET-Open & FET-Proactive), EIC Transition, and all innovators eligible for EIC Tech to Market (see section “Who can apply”) to apply for the EIC Tech to Market Innovation Discovery Training. The new batch will kick off in December 2024 (online).

The EIC Tech to Market Innovation Discovery Training will take place online on the 9th and 13th of December 2024, during two half-days (mornings), that consist of collective sessions to help deep-tech scientists acquire a basic understanding of entrepreneurship skills and how to effectively present their entrepreneurial ideas.

The former participants found the training informative and enriching, offering insights into the path from innovative ideas to market-readiness products with special appreciation for the practical advice from competent professionals and experts. Additionally, the testimony from someone who became an entrepreneur from the academic background added a layer of practical relevance and inspiration to the training.

Are you interested in this opportunity?
Make sure to apply until 27 November 2024!

What to expect from it?

During two half-days, the EIC Tech to Market Innovation Discovery Training aims to help researchers get a first idea of what it means to start a venture out of a scientific breakthrough.

It will be based on a dual approach: a) an overview of important topics done by entrepreneurship experts combined with b) real life feedback from an entrepreneur, done in an interactive fashion.

In this training session, attendees will gain a comprehensive understanding of all the essential elements of entrepreneurship skills and learn effective ways to present their entrepreneurial ideas. Then, participants will be engaged in a collective coaching session to discuss and receive feedback on their entrepreneurial concepts from both experts and fellow attendees.

The subjects covered will comprise business models, identifying customers, market sizing, Intellectual Property and funding and will be followed by a talk from a science entrepreneur.

When will it be held?

There will be two online sessions of training, the first on Monday 9th of December and the second one on Friday 13th of December, both in the morning from 9:00 to 13:00 CET.

Who can apply?

FET-Open and FET-Proactive), EIC Transition, ERC-POC, FET Flagship, Women TechEU beneficiaries, EIC Seal of Excellence holders, and Horizon Europe Pillar II (Digital Industry and Space, Climate, Energy and Mobility, Food, Bioeconomy, Natural Resources, Agriculture and Environment).
