Energy storage and Energy efficiency are important parts of the energy transition. The first is the quintessential part of helping balance out the variability in generation by allowing the consumption of a higher proportion of self-generated renewable power by consumers while reducing the need to feed excess electricity back into the grid. The second consists of using less energy to perform the same task or produce the same result (e.g., energy-efficient homes and buildings that use less energy to heat and cool, and energy-efficient manufacturing facilities that use less energy to produce goods).

With this in mind, and to further develop these sectors, this EIC ePitching with Investors initiative is a valuable opportunity for selected EIC beneficiaries to pitch their innovations in front of jury members from top-class European investors in the Energy & Cleantech fields focusing on the Energy Storage & Energy Efficiency sectors.
