News - EIC ePitchings, Planet.tech Demos and Women Innovators on the spot: check out the EIC BAS sessions at R&I Days 2020

Less than 2 weeks until this year's R&I Days kick off! There will be 3 days of intensive policy co-designing, thought-provoking panels and matchmaking opportunities. Check the programme to learn more about the virtual interactive sessions organised by the European Innovation Council and join us on 22-24 September!

 

Day 1 / 22 September

 

  • 11h00 to 11h40: EIC as a tool in times of crisis 

This panel discussion will showcase the activities of the EIC innovative community against the Covid-19 crisis, including success stories from the EUvsVirus Hackathon / Matchathon. The session will also present the EIC COVID-19 Platform.

 

  • 11h40 to 12h30: More than money - EIC Business Acceleration Services under Horizon Europe 

This session has the objective to present the role and impact of EIC Business Acceleration Services. The panel will show how the BAS are providing complementary support to the financial support of the Accelerator to help companies to scale up in the most optimised manner.

 

Day 2 / 23 September 

 

  • 12h00 to 12h45: Open Session on Women Revolutionising Tech

The opening session will discuss initiatives aimed at increasing participation of women in the European Innovation Council, such as positive actions for women CEOs, gender parity in the juries, and the EU prize for Women Innovators. The session will also brainstorm on new ways to promote gender balance in research, innovation and entrepreneurship.

 

  • 14h00 to 15h00: How to reach the stars: impacts of EIC support in EU widening countries

The objective of the session is to show to a wide audience, public and private sectors including SMEs and Starts-ups from widening countries that it is possible for them to ‘reach the stars’. The panel will show inter alia EIC success stories, financing tools/channels from public (EU and national) and private sectors that facilitate companies’ growth/scale up.

 

  • 15h00 to 15h45: Removing the barriers for women innovators

The session will help the audience understand the main barriers faced by women innovators and how they to encourage higher women participation in the ‘deep tech’ domain. 

 

After this session, and from 15:45 to 16:30, a workshop will focus on the EIC support to innovative procurement and activities promoted to EIC Beneficiaries. 

 

Day 3 / 24 September 

 

  • 10h00 to 11h00: Live investor pitching with EIC start-ups with breakthrough solutions for COVID

The EIC Accelerator joins forces with Wolves Summit to bring eight EIC-funded SMEs tackling COVID-19 pandemic to pitch their solutions in front of investors from nine different EU-countries.

 

  • 13h30 to 14h15: Corporate engagement in EIC: Planet Tech Demo Day

Four of the Proof of Concepts developed in the framework of the EIC Planet.tech initiative will be jointly presented by the EIC startups and large corporations involved. 

 

  • 14h30 to 15h55: Dragon's Den ‘roasting’ with EIC 'Green Deal' startups and jury

Three pitches for investment will be given to a panel of four different investors. During humorous Q&A, the panel will challenge the pitches and compete to cooperate.
