The European Innovation Council’s (EIC) collaboration with Vattenfall, one of Europe's largest producers and retailers of electricity and heat, reached a new milestone. After many months of collaboration, on December 5-6, 2024, Vattenfall co-hosted the EIC Corporate Day aimed at creating synergies between EIC-funded innovators and Europe’s leading corporations.
Vattenfall’s Partnership with the EIC
In the framework of the EIC Corporate Partnership Programme, the EIC has been working hand-in-hand with Vattenfall, one of the leading providers of electricity and heat across Sweden, Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark, and the United Kingdom, as well as Finland. Committed to “Fossil Freedom”, a future where everyone can choose fossil-free ways to move, make, and live, the company is actively working to reduce its carbon footprint across all operations.
For the past 4 months, the EIC Corporate Partnership Programme team has been scouting for new technologies to help Vattenfall achieve its ambitious sustainability goals and unlock new business opportunities. After months of vetting Europe’s most promising deep tech startups and scaleups, the EIC was able to present Vattenfall the most relevant innovations in Wind Power, Energy Grid Management, and Heating from the EIC portfolio of over 6000 startups and scaleups.
The EIC has a broad knowledge about different startups, what they’re capable of and investing a lot of money in them. In that regard, we can rest assured to get the right companies to present the right knowledge and the right needs for our challenges.
