Open Call – Join the EIC Multi-Corporate Day with Alaian, the unique alliance of ten world leading telcos searching for deep tech innovation

The European Innovation Council and Alaian, a global telecommunications alliance with the mission of reinventing the industry by working with the most disruptive startups, invite EIC-backed SMEs/startups/scaleup to apply for a new EIC Multi-Corporate Day, to be held online, on 12 February 2025. This initiative is organized under the EIC Corporate Partnership Programme, one of the flagship EIC Business Acceleration Services, and it is part of a series of matchmaking activities. 

Selected EIC-backed companies will have access to dedicated training, mentoring, pitch dry runs and further support to present their solutions on an online pitching and matching session on the 12 February 2025, with the corporations’ decision makers. Finally, EIC companies will also benefit from post-event support to maximise the impact of their business proposals. Some of the companies selected will be invited to the Mobile World Congress (3 - 6 March) to engage with Alaian and its ten members.    

With its expanding network of strategic partners, Alaian positions itself as a benchmark in the global telecommunications market, offering advanced solutions and fostering collaboration in an ever-evolving environment. In total, Alaian members have a presence in over 70 markets, reach 1.5 billion customers. Their members include: Cellnex Telecom, KPN, MTN Group, NOS, Omantel, Orange, STC, Telefónica, TIM and Turk Telekom.

Opportunities for selected EIC companies:    

  • Personalized preparatory support including a group session with Alaian, 1-to-1 session with business experts, high quality feedback to adjust the pitch deck, pitch dry-run and business proposal review. 

  • Privileged access to high-level decision makers within Alaian members.  

  • Some of the selected candidates will be granted with access and pitching opportunities at the Mobile World Congress from the 3 to the 6 March in Barcelona (Spain).  

  • Knowledge sharing and network building for future business.  

  • Possibility to initiate collaborations, strategic partnerships or enter new markets with Alaian members.   

 

Who can apply?    

Alaian and its members are looking for disruptive technologies with applications based on new advanced network capabilities and telecommunications services enabled by Open Gateway, an initiative supported by the GSMA. Alaian members are particularly interested in innovations that align with at least one of the following focus areas:   

  • Financial & insurance services  

  • ICT Services  

  • Industry & manufacturing  

  • Transport & logistics  

  • Travel & hospitality  

  • Customer relationship  

  • Data-driven marketing and media  

  • Entertainment & XR

Commitment required    

Participants must be available for the entire duration of the programme, which includes the preparation phase (online training sessions, pitch checks, and business proposal reviews), the event day (online) on February 12, 2025, and follow-up activities. Selected companies must be represented by C-level executives. Additionally, selected participants will be responsible for arranging and covering their travel and accommodation costs.    

  

About the EIC Corporate Partnership Programme   

The EIC Corporate Partnership Programme supports EIC-backed companies looking to scale by securing new customers and business partners. To date, more than 1 200 EIC-backed start-ups and scale-ups, together with over 2 500 high-level representatives from more than 100 large companies, took part in the programme, resulting in significant impacts on organisations, tracking progress, and closing deals, often within 6 months.
