A member of the SISHOT EIC Transition project, Prof. Anne L’Huillier (from Lund University, Sweden) won the 2023 Noble prize in physics with two other scientists, Pierre Agostini and Ferenc Krausz for their work on generating ultra-short pulses of light to study how electrons move through matter.
She is only the fifth woman to have won the physics Nobel.
