The EIC Tech to Market (T2M) Venture Building Programme will be present at the Barcelona Deep Tech Summit 2024, which will take place from 5 to 7 November 2024. There, the programme will be represented by two project teams, FORESEE and PureSurf, and a panel session will be organised with a focus on the key role the Europe Commission plays in moving the European innovation and tech scene forward.
The two EIC projects supported by the EIC Tech to Market Venture Building Programme will be showcasing their cutting-edge technologies at the MWCapital booth at the event. The participation in these Europe-wide technological events aims to support our beneficiaries in getting their maturing innovations known and fostering business and networking opportunities with like-minded innovators, entrepreneurs and possible investors, by sharing their technologies, knowledge and experiences.
Furthermore, we will be hosting a panel under the topic of “Medical Devices Innovations: The European Commission’s Key Role in Driving the Boom”, taking place on 6th of November from 17:00 to 18:00 (time) at the Auditorium Barcelona Deep Tech Summit.
This session intends to highlight how the European Commission and the European Innovation Council (EIC), with programmes such as the EIC Tech to Market, are spearheading a wave of innovation, fostering effective collaboration between research institutions and industry leaders. These efforts lead not only to the transformation of healthcare, but also to the showcase of Europe's leadership in the development and adoption of cutting-edge medical technologies.
The speakers will be:
- Moderator:
- Enric Claverol, Advisor Medtech Startups, Former EIC Programme Manager for Medical Technologies and Medical Devices
- Speakers:
- Susana Amorós, CTO and Co-founder, Nimble Diagnostics, Barcelona
- Laura Becerra-Fajardo, Postdoctoral Researcher FORESEE Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona
- Núria Amigó, CEO , Biosfer Teslab, Tarragona
- Markus Wilhelms, CEO & Co-Founder of MOWOOT
Meet the EIC projects that will be at the Barcelona Deep Tech Summit:
- FORESEE: Novel microsensing platform for remote patient monitoring
The objective of the FORESEE project is to develop implantable microsensing devices. The key to this transformative approach lies in the development of ultra-thin and flexible implantable devices that lack bulky components or batteries. Powered wirelessly, the microsensors promise to revolutionise chronic heart failure monitoring, improving patient care. The focus of FORESEE is to bring this innovative sensing platform from concept to reality.
- PureSurf: Bio-based surfactants from renewable waste streams for the circular economy
Surfactants – the primary component of detergents – are omnipresent in numerous industrial sectors, from cleaning and personal care products to agrochemicals and pharmaceuticals, 17 million tonnes hit the market each year. From a previous project, novel green surfactants were obtained by green and scalable synthetic pathways, resulting in two patent applications. Now, the PureSurf project aims to introduce pioneering manufacturing concepts to produce innovative high-performance bio-based surfactants from underutilised renewable waste streams.
