- Wind Power:
- Cold Climate: Ice causes both a reduction in power production and pose safety issues. We are looking for solutions or services directed at identifying or removing ice from both onshore and offshore turbines
- Ancillary Services: Wind park nowadays are sometimes combined with batteries, PV, electrolysers or similar. We are looking for hybrid powerplant alternatives aimed at increasing the capacity factor. In addition, solutions aimed at performing grid services are also of interest.
- Energy Grid Management:
- Development of Heat Maps: When adding new production to a grid or adding a load knowing the grid capacity crucial. It is common to create heatmaps representing this. We are after solutions or technology to help both create the heatmap and also to improve the capability of mitigating capacity problems.
- Support with grid connections – where to get more power for future developments: We understand grid constraints are real and it is currently one of the biggest challenges for new developments. Vattenfall is actively looking for new ways to navigate these challenges when working with local DNOs. We are keen to understand how we can potentially find new ways to interact with the DNOs and provide them with more support to accelerate connections to the grid.
- Heating:
- Infrastructure
- Identification of leaks for old infrastructure, Identifying leaks in existing district heating networks is challenging. We are after technologies to both identify and also quantify potential leaks for hot water.
- Operations and Maintenance of existing networks, We are after new solutions in long term maintenance and operation strategies for existing district heating.
- New connections and new technologies to be implemented, District heating is of growing interest in some markets and we are interested in any solutions or services aimed at building new robust district heating systems.
- Development of thermo-solutions
- We understand that District Heating can offer a more sustainable and cost-effective way to warm our businesses and homes. As the technologies are constantly evolving we would like to explore new solutions in this space.
