Challenge: FLASH-VHEE Project by Institute Curie

About
Institut Curie is a French research and medical center dedicated to cancer research, treatment, and innovation, combining cutting-edge scientific research with clinical excellence, making it a global leader in oncology. Institut Curie is launching an Innovation Partnership, through which it aims to collaborate closely with selected partners in order to co-develop, supply, install, and implement the innovative FLASH-VHEE radiotherapy equipment.
The Challenge
The challenge posed by Institut Curie is to develop and implement an innovative FLASH-VHEE (Very High-Energy Electron) radiotherapy system that meets the hospital’s clinical, technical, and operational requirements. The Institute seeks a solution that goes beyond existing technologies to enable ultra-fast, highly precise radiation treatments that minimize damage to surrounding healthy tissues while maintaining or improving therapeutic efficacy.
Specifically, the hospital is looking for a partner capable of:
- Co-developing the technological solution to achieve the desired functional objectives, including system performance, safety, and reliability;
- Delivering, installing, and commissioning the FLASH-VHEE equipment in the hospital environment, fully integrated with existing infrastructure;
- Providing interfaces and software integration for seamless operation within the Institut Curie IT and clinical systems;
- Supplying consumables and ongoing support to ensure continuous operation during the partnership period;
- Training hospital personnel and transferring operational knowledge to guarantee safe and effective use of the equipment;
- Providing preventive and corrective maintenance throughout the duration of the partnership.
