Last month, the world's leading research and advisory company Gartner showcased one of the projects developed by the company, the EIC-funded project MIIMETIQ, as the Worldwide Best Practice for Industry 4.0 and featured the innovation in its 2020 Global Symposium. NEXIONA CONNECTOCRATS, based in Barcelona, Spain, is an IoT company that produces software, focusing its work on supporting companies to connect their assets and devices as well as integrating all tier data sources (physical and digital).

The customisable product called MIIMETIQ provides an IoT development framework that offers complete data ownership and privacy to the user and full data standardisation to create better data-driven decisions. In 2018, NEXIONA established a Partnership Agreement with CELSA Group, one of the world's biggest industrial conglomerates dedicated to steel processing. Nexiona provided the industrial group with the MIIMETIQ technology and promoted CELSA's data sources digitisation in all its plants. The product has been applied in data integration projects to create local data lakes in each plant, namely with two Barcelona plants, one in Norway, one in France and other three plants in Spain.

Jesús Mayordomo, Chief Information Officer (CIO) of the CELSA Group stated:

"I truly thank NEXIONA and its team. With MIIMETIQ, we managed to develop a unique project. The technology gave us the full freedom to data define our assets, our plants and their performance, as well as full freedom of deployments On-Premise and Cloud (Private and Public). Additionally, data and platform ownership gave us the peace of mind 21st-century data projects require. This Gartner recognition is also a thank you to MIIMETIQ and NEXIONA's talented team."

NEXIONA received a Phase 2 Grant from the European Innovation Council to improve the M2M/IoT application framework – the IT infrastructure is agnostic and can be deployed on the edge, on the cloud or on-premise. MIIMETIQ provides high levels of scalability and security, as well as a set of powerful tools that can be integrated into customer key enterprise applications and systems.
