Elliptic Labs recently announced the signature of its first enterprise software license agreement with one of the top three leading global laptop/PC manufacturers. This agreement is for the company's AI Virtual Smart Sensor Platform and covers the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) 's mid-tier high volume commercial laptops across multiple models.

The Norwegian company, funded by the EIC, has a global reach, targeting the smartphone, laptop, IoT, and automotive markets. Its AI Virtual Smart Sensors Platform enables features such as presence, heartbeat, breathing, proximity and touchless gesture detection. The company's patented AI software combines ultrasound and sensor-fusion algorithms to deliver next-generation user experiences.

With this new contract, Elliptic Labs' innovative virtual smart sensors will bring a unique model for safety, interactivity, and productivity to the laptop industry. The AI Virtual Smart Sensor Platform uses the laptop's existing speaker and microphone to send and receive ultrasonic waves. The AI Virtual Smart Sensor Platform translates these waves into Virtual Smart Sensors, offering different user experiences.

According to Laila Danielsen, CEO of Elliptic Labs, this entrance into yet another vertical market demonstrates the far-reaching value of our AI Virtual Smart Sensor Platform, which continues to be broadly adopted. "The laptop/PC market is rare in that it is a fully mature consumer arena that nonetheless is experiencing unprecedented growth. Already a $331 billion industry, the market is slated to grow another 53% within the next four years. Elliptic Labs is uniquely positioned to take advantage of this growth, thanks to our proven ability to deploy our software solution at scale — currently on over 150 million devices — and the valuable innovations we bring to the user experience through our ability to detect presence and enable touchless gestures with software only. These capabilities also bring advantages in terms of efficiency, sanitation, and eco-friendliness, all at lower cost and better performance than the hardware solutions of our competitors. Expanding into new verticals also improves the robustness and resiliency of our company, allowing us to operate effectively in varied geographical regions and in the face of other world concerns".

Laila also higlighted that Eliptic Labs is commited to build the leading software platform for all sensors, making every device smarter and more environmentally-friendly. "We will continue to expand our team of highly skilled employees in order to ensure both quality software and quality support, cultivating close relationships and collaborations with our customers and partners based on our commitment to excellence. We will continue to approach and market to new prospects with confidence, and as always, we will innovate and create new experiences and solutions in order to generate more opportunities and value for our PC customers and partners", she concluded.

Elliptic Labs received a Phase 2 grant from the European Innovation Council to create a cloud-based machine learning service (MLaaS) platform that can easily integrate virtual sensors with smartphones and devices.
