Which companies will be featured?

You can find the preliminary list of featured projects below.

Please note that this is a preliminary list and might still be subject to additions and changes.

Boydsense

BOYDSense’s mission is to democratize health monitoring to improve people's life. BOYDSense is a French startup that develops a breath analysis platform relying on metabolomics and gas sensing technologies. By measuring volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in exhaled breath and leveraging the correlation with blood biomarkers, the miniaturized breath analyzer will provide useful and real-time information to monitor health. The first product/application in development named “Lassie” is dedicated to diabetes. The company is on a series A investment round, looking for 5M€.

Resistell

Resistell is developing the world’s fastest Antibiotic Susceptibility Test (AST) which helps doctors in hospitals to find the right antibiotic treatment for the patient. The conventional methods of assessing microbial susceptibility to antibiotics take about 1-2 days to get the results. Their rapid AST will save patients’ lives and help preventing the spread of antibiotic resistance (AMR). They are on a series B funding round, looking for 5M€.

Braincapture

BrainCapture is a Danish startup developing an affordable, smartphone-connected EEG device that enables neurological-diagnostics-as-a-service aimed at the 4+ Billion people in emerging markets who lack consistent and affordable access to neurological care. This lack of access leads to millions of people going without diagnosis and treatment for conditions like Epilepsy. This disparity can be addressed with the tools of the 21st century - smartphones, connectivity, AI and automation - and represents an opportunity. They are creating an Electroencephalogram (EEG) device which is easy to use, and telemedicine optimized in order to offer EEG as a service throughout Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. Their value proposition is that medical facilities can adopt their solution at low or no up front cost, use existing nursing staff for data collection after a short training, and pay per-test, allowing them to expand their additional diagnostic offering and earn revenue without additional cost. The company is on a series A investment round, looking for 5M€.

Sentante

Inovativy Medicina has developed Sentante – a smart, sensory, teleoperated robot system for endovascular interventions, which allows the procedure to be performed remotely, from a different room, or even different hospital. The system senses operators’ movements and provides close to natural haptic force feedback - physicians can feel the instrument resistance just as if they were standing near the patient. They are on a series A funding round, with a target investment ticket of 7M€.

Mode Sensors logo

Mode Sensors develops wearable sensor technology to support care providers and clinical decision-making. The Norwegian medical device company offers Re:Balans, a fluid management solution that quantifies changes in hydration in order to help patients stay hydrated, and prevent medical complications caused by fluid imbalances.

Akara Robotics

Akara Robotics is an Irish company developing new technologies for front-line healthcare workers. Akara offers an end-to-end disinfectant solution that can be deployed in hospitals, nursing homes and potentially endless other areas where harmful germs reside. The system uses a patent-protected, state-of-the-art disinfection robot known as ‘Violet’. They are also responsible for 'Stevie', a socially assistive robot developed to support frontline staff and residents in retirement community settings.
