On 26 March 2025, EIC beneficiaries from across Europe gathered at Healthcare Business International (HBI) in Paris to showcase their groundbreaking AI solutions for medical imaging to an audience of leading industry buyers and stakeholders. The session was made possible by the EIC Innovation Procurement Programme powered by SPIN4EIC, providing a dynamic platform for EIC-backed innovators to connect with private buyers and foster new partnerships.

🎥Curious about how the session went and what EIC beneficiaries have to say about it? Watch our video recap:

HBI served as a hub for networking and knowledge exchange, bringing together representatives from industry leaders Rimed – Unilabs, Affidea and 3R. The activity enabled the EIC innovators and stakeholders to explore collaborative opportunities, share insights, and discuss innovative approaches to reshape the future of AI in healthcare.

Success case: Forging new collaborations to advance medical imaging

Following the pitching, a collaboration between the EIC Accelerator beneficiary AI4MedImaging (SME) and private buyer Rimed – Unilabs was established. Enabled by the EIC Innovation Procurement Programme, this connection led to a formal agreement focused on advancing innovation in healthcare.

AI4MedImaging’s AI solution has been holistically installed across Rimed – Unilabs sites as part of a trial implementation, with tailored training sessions now being prepared to ensure smooth and effective adoption by all medical users. What began as an initial conversation has since developed into a fully active collaboration that continues to evolve in real time.

For participants, the session was more than a showcase of innovation: it was a chance to connect with potential clients, investors, and partners who can accelerate the adoption of their cutting-edge solutions.

What I really hope to get today is to really connect with the audience. These are healthcare providers and we want the message to really resonate with them to lead to some more discussions on how we can really collaborate together and scale AI.

Julie Sufana – Chief Marketing Officer at Contextflow (EIC Accelerator Beneficiary)

I’m here because I think AI is really getting important in my business. It’s very important for us to recognise companies which are emerging and which have promising products. And this is just a great place to get to know people, get in contact with them and try out and buy some products.

Alain Mayer – Chief Medical Officer, Rimed at Unilabs (private buyer)

As programme manager we have several tasks, one of them is identifying emerging technologies and fostering research in the field. Second, we help SMEs and startups to scale un and become more international. Third, we help them to create an ecosystem where they can operate and bring research to the market.

Federica Zanca – Programme Manager Medical Imaging & AI in Healthcare at European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA)
