About

Global Startup EXPO 2025 (GSE 2025) is an international conference event that, in partnership with Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, unites the world’s leading deep tech startups, investors, collaboration-minded universities, research institutions, and corporations, along with startup support organizations, to explore innovative solutions to global-scale challenges.

 

Where? EXPO Exhibition Center “WASSE”, Osaka, Japan

When? 17 September 2025 – 18 September 2025

 

Exhibiting at the fair

Applications have already started and there is no exhibition fee (including space usage, basic framework, and equipment costs)! GSE 2025 will feature exhibition booths from 150 startups and is expected to attract 4,000 participants from around the globe. 

The fair accepts applications from startups, including EIC beneficiaries, wishing to exhibit at this event. EIC encourages all eligible startups to apply by 30 May 2025, 16:59 JST.

 

The advantages of exhibiting are many, such as: 

  • A chance to exhibit at a booth and showcase actual products at the GSE2025 event space within the Osaka-Kansai Expo venue. 

  • Contest-style pitch events, with presenters selected from the exhibitors. 

  • Opportunity to secure new collaborations and investment prospects with numerous major Japanese corporations in attendance. 

  • An opportunity to connect with large companies, universities/research institutions, startups from various countries and cities, venture capital firms, investors, and startup support organizations from Kansai and other regions of Japan, particularly those interested in the deep tech sector. 

  • With a matching system that allows both parties to request meetings, and support from the organizers, smooth business discussions are made possible. 

 

Evaluation Criteria 

For overseas startups, the evaluation will focus on the following aspects: 

  • Startups engaged in business within the deep tech sector.

  • Business activities aligned with the global challenge-solving objectives of GSE 2025.

  • Possession of services or products that can be exhibited.

  • Must aim for developing business or creating new ventures through establishing a base in Japan, expanding operations in Japan, or collaborating/partnering with Japanese companies, universities, and research institutions (e.g., business alliances, technical partnerships, investments, or the establishment of joint ventures).

  • Achieving centraur (valued over $100 million) or unicorn level status (valued over $1 billion)

  • Ability to exhibit and engage in business discussions at the booth throughout the two-day event.

  • Availability of staff capable of conducting business discussions in English.
