Open Call - EIC Community Training: How to Build a Solid and Sustainable Future for your Innovation

The European Innovation Council (EIC) Business Acceleration Services invite you to join this EIC Community Training “How to build a solid and sustainable future for your startup: Financial modelling for Seed, Series A and B rounds”. This session will provide essential financials modelling knowledge and skills to a selected EIC beneficiaries. With limited places, open for EIC Pathfinder, Transition and Accelerator beneficiaries, make sure to mark your calendar for 20 March 2024, the day after the EIC Summit.

How do you secure the financial foundation necessary to transform your innovative ideas into a sustainable business? This training event, taking place on Wednesday 20 March 2024 where we will delve into this critical question, guiding attendees through the essential financial strategies and models that pave the way for success in the competitive landscape of entrepreneurship.

This training will provide innovators, entrepreneurs and startups with the essential tools and knowledge needed to identify, secure and manage funding that aligns with their vision. Mention the trainers here.

EIC beneficiaries (Pathfinder and Transition) from early-stage companies and innovation projects will learn the best practices for valuation – establishing a quantitative measure of their company’s worth to attract compatible investors.

Additional sessions will cover conveying your project’s value, including vital intangible assets like intellectual property and team expertise. You will gain skills for developing realistic revenue projections – critical for setting strategic goals and winning investors’ confidence.

Hands-on experience with interpreting key financial statements will help demystify concepts like cash flow, income and expenses. With these vital foundations, you can fully assess and articulate your project’s financial viability to stakeholders.

For EIC Accelerator beneficiaries from fast-growing and established companies, our executive financial modelling training will equip you with the skills needed to build and present robust models tailored to your innovation goals, providing the quantitative backbone for decision-making and viability assessments. As presenting models visually is equally important, you will leave understanding how to showcase your venture’s potential convincingly to various stakeholders through models.

Whether your idea is still conceptual, or you are seeking to scale your startup, this training will provide actionable strategies for financing innovation on your own terms, without compromising your vision. You will walk away connected, confident, and equipped to identify and secure the funding that promises to accelerate your success.

Meet our trainers

Daniel Michel, Growth Services Manager and Head of Access to Finance at EIT Digital

Passionate about digital technologies, Daniel started his career as an engineer employing distributed software architectures, while working on space programmes at Airbus. He has broad experience in various digital technologies, gained initially at CentraleSupélec, MIT (AI Lab) and Imperial College London where he gained an MSc in Communications & Signal Processing. He has been supporting tens of companies in fundraising efforts in the last 10 years, in various technical areas: SaaS, Enterprise Software, ClimateTech, MedTech, Fintech, Industry 4.0, IoT, HW , etc. Prior to joining EIT Digital, most recently leading the Growth Services team, Daniel has spent 15 years advising corporates and shareholders on a great variety of transactions: Venture Capital fundraising, M&A, Private Equity, LBO, IPOs, ECM.

José A. Martinez, EU Business Innovation Coach

José is an Electrical Engineer with an MBA. He has expertise in the delivery of accelerated international growth strategies and has advised 300+ companies in IT, HealthTech, CleanTech, AgroTech and Nanotechnology, among other sectors. He is the CEO of ADEX, an AI company, investor in disruptive SMEs at early stages and Business Expert of the UE.
