Open call: Apply to join the 1st batch of the EIC Tech to Market Venture Building Programme

The EIC Tech to Market (T2M) Venture Building Programme aims to support EIC Pathfinder & Transition beneficiaries in their journey to kick-start successful start-ups by exploiting the potential of their research results. We invite you, as interested beneficiaries, to enrol in our programme, so you can benefit from tailor-made activities to support you in the creation of a start-up, building your team and venture.

We are looking for beneficiaries that have research results and technologies under the following thematic areas:

The EIC Tech to Market Venture Building Programme will onboard EIC beneficiaries and take you on a journey that will comprise 4 main phases (described in more detail below). During the 10-month programme, external stakeholders (such as investors, corporates, entrepreneurs, business analysts, market experts, and others) will also join the activities to assess the potential of your solution, act as mentors and experts, and will even have the opportunity of joining the ventures’ teams for coverage of knowledge gaps.

How does the Venture Building process work?

Below, you can find the EIC Tech to Market Venture Building Programme’s 4 phases of activities presented in more detail.

1. Exploration & Validation

  • Validation workshops to assess the potential of your research results through the feedback of business experts from the innovation ecosystem.

2. Feasibility assessment

  • Conduction of individual feasibility assessments to support in the analysis your case and determine the viability of the project or business venture, identifying the factors that can lead to its success.
  • Onboarding of external experts to assess your case according to its thematic area.

3. Support for team creation

  • Identification of your team needs and definition of job offers.
  • Development of talent brokerage events to spot the best talent fit for your case.
  • Onboarding, to your team, of selected candidates and embedded entrepreneurs.

4. Venture support services

  • Ensure a legitimate needs’ analysis for pre-venturing services, performed by a group of validated experts.
  • Pre-venture support services provided in a tailor-made and on-demand approach.

 

Eligibility criteria

We are looking for EIC Pathfinder and Transition Beneficiaries working as researchers or early-stage entrepreneurs in EIC-funded projects. All candidates coming from research/academic institutions should be endorsed by their corresponding Technology Transfer Office (TTO).

 

How can you take part?

At the moment for the 1st batch of applications, we are looking for beneficiaries that have research results and technologies under the following thematic areas: 

 

  • Quantum tech and electronics

Validation workshop: 23 May Morning

More calls for applications will open throughout the upcoming months according to thematic areas. Then, the programme will run with different teams working at different stages, but with the same goal: setting-up the conditions for the creation of successful ventures.

  • Advanced materials for energy and environmental sustainability (currently open)
  • Architecture engineering construction technologies
  • Energy systems and green technologies
  • Food chain technologies, novel and sustainable food
  • Health and biotechnology
  • Medical technologies and medical devices
  • Quantum tech and electronics (currently open)
  • Renewable energy conversion and alternative resource exploitation
  • Responsible electronics (currently open)
  • Space systems and technologies

 

When joining this first phase of Exploration & Validation in the venture building journey, you will be able to take advantage of:

  • Training sessions – receive initial feedback and recommendations for enhancement of your innovative solution.
  • Individual support - book timeslots with experts to clarify any questions and to receive feedback on how to improve your presentation.
  • Validation Workshops – present your innovation and receive feedback from external stakeholders, experts and EIC representatives.
