The European Patent Office (EPO) is looking for the next best inventors to receive the European Inventor Award 2023. The award recognises inventors in six different categories and nominations are open until 3 October 2022.

Next year’s edition of the European Inventor Award already has a location – Valencia, Spain. And now it’s time to nominate the inventors that will be part of the run to attend 2023’s event and receive the prize within their assigned category.

The objective of the Award is to not only recognise technological breakthroughs, but also to cast a spotlight on the individuals who are driving us towards a brighter future. With this initiative, EPO intends to showcase inspiring ideas and underline the role that inventors play in building a smarter, more sustainable world.

The categories open for nominations are Industry; Research; Non-EPO countries; SMEs; Lifetime achievement; and Young Inventors prize.

If you’d like to take part and nominate a great inventor, you can submit a proposal on the EPO’s nomination platform, until 3 October 2022.
