A delegation of 14 EIC-backed companies will participate in EIC Soft-landing Programme for healthcare and life sciences, taking place from 9 to 13 June in Boston, US. As an initiative of the EIC Business Acceleration Services, , the programme will give EIC innovators the opportunity to expand their technologies overseas, offering them tailored services and the right guidance and tools to connect and build international partnerships. For this edition, the programme is partnering with MIT LinQ to provide the selected EIC companies with additional guidance from a structured innovation methodology focusing on medical innovation.

The mission’s agenda will include targeted market insights sessions and warm introductions to the most relevant stakeholders within the Boston ecosystem, including high level investors, corporates and other potential business partners. During the programme, the selected EIC-backed companies will strive to accelerate their impact by identifying unmet medical needs, enhancing strategic decision-making, and making the most out of their new connections with the right partners for their business.

On 14 April, an online pre-departure onboarding meeting was held with the 14 EIC-backed companies, EIC representatives, and coaching experts. The purpose of the meeting was to prepare the selected companies for the Soft-landing mission to Boston by providing detailed information about the programme’s matchmaking services and outlining the activities planned for the onsite event.

In the lead-up to their immersion week, these EIC invested in additional coaching through six targeted workshops,  various matchmaking activities designed to enhance companies readiness and networking opportunities. These include pitch training, partner networking strategies in Boston, a leadership workshop with Spentys’ CEO, a testimony from MelliCell on chronic disease therapeutics, an innovation overview with Rice Venture Fund’s Adrian Trömel, and a session on legal and financing considerations for expanding into the US. This immersive initiative  is happening one week before one of the world’s largest biotech conference, the BIO International Convention 2025, scheduled from 16-19 June 2025 in Boston, USA where 15 EIC companies exhibit at the EIC Pavilion to extend their business opportunities and develop more connections with biotech leaders and potential investors in the region and at global level.
