The recently launched EIC Tech to Market (T2M) Programme is looking for entrepreneurs in residence to team up with researchers who want to transform their research into deep-tech startups.
As an Entrepreneur in Residence, you will have a front row seat to the EIC’s innovative approach to venture building. During this 6-month part-time residence you will get the opportunity to be part of the Tech to Market due diligence and undertake the business ideation and validation process, supported by mentors, specialists and industry key opinion leaders, while co-creating a venture together.
During these 6-months, in addition to embedding in our ideation process, you will get the opportunity to:
- Get to know the most innovative technologies being developed in Europe.
- Co-create in a new disruptive deep-tech venture, backed by reputable Research Centers or Universities.
- Access best-of-class services in the entrepreneurial arena
- Access and receive guidance from an extensive community of experts, investors, and industrial partners.
- Most important! Become eligible to join the founding team after the entrepreneurial residence.
As an Entrepreneur in Residence, you will...
- Co-create the vision and purpose for the company with the scientific team.
- Explore and validate potential use cases for the technology based on research and market needs
- Identify potential niche markets Define potential business models
- Lead the business approach to potential clients and partners
- Design and look for the first pilots
- Build a trustful relationship with your potential cofounders and attract the best talent for the project.
- Manage the relationship with shareholders.
- Last but not least, ensure the survival of your team and company beyond the venture builder.
Candidate Profile
Our ideal candidate is a serial entrepreneur who is fundamentally excited and motivated by the opportunity to build cutting-edge deep tech companies. An EiR (Entrepreneur in Residence) will have experience translating and articulating the vision and value proposition of an innovative technology, an entrepreneurial spirit and experience with an early-stage company. In addition, a know-how in the technological arena is essential, particularly in at least one of the thematic areas below:
- Advanced materials for energy and environmental sustainability
- Architecture engineering construction technologies
- Energy systems and green technologies
- Food chain technologies, novel and sustainable food
- Health and biotechnology
- Medical technologies and medical devices
- Quantum tech and electronics
- Renewable energy conversion and alternative resource exploitation
- Responsible electronics
- Space systems and technologies

Guidelines on engagement
Talent matchmaking will be ongoing throughout the programme’s implementation (until the end of 2024), with two major talent brokerage events every half-year.
The programme’s team will get in touch with you in case your profile is considered a good match with the EIC Beneficiaries’ teams that will be onboarded to participate in the venture building journey. At this time, more detailed information will be provided on the requirements of your participation, and you can assess if you have availability and interest to get enrolled in the programme.
Details on payment retribution for entrepreneurs in residence to be provided will be discussed directly with the programme’s team in case of selection.
