The Challenge
The challenge focuses on eliminating powder-based dusting in uncured EPDM sheet manufacturing to reduce health risks and improve product cleanliness. It aims to explore:
- Additives or coatings that prevent self-adhesion
- Mechanical handling solutions for roll separation
- Clean, production-ready alternatives suitable for rubber processing
The ultimate goal is to maintain EPDM performance while enabling a dust-free process with a clear path to industrial implementation.
Reward
Successful applicants may receive support that includes access to Carlisle’s R&D experts, relevant technical data, and laboratory equipment. Sponsored research funding of up to $100,000 may be available for the first year, with the potential for extension based on project outcomes.
