In 2015, Cellink shook up the industry with its breakthrough universal bio ink, the very first on the market to be commercialised. The Gothenburg-based company offered a 3D printable bio ink, which is used to print organs and tissues. This allows medical tests to be carried out on human tissue instead of animals or humans. The world-leading manufacturer is investing in UK robotics company Q-Bot, as part of a £3.6m Series A investment.

The EIC-funded company BotsAndUs announced a partnership with British Airways to provide a solution that will reduce travel stress by assisting all passengers with relevant information to their journey and airport stay. The robot Bill will interact with customers in multiple languages and escort them to locations such as cafes, toilets, meeting rooms and family check-in zones.
EIC-beneficiaries are invited to applied to apply to the International Space Pitch Day, organised and financed by the US Department of Defence and the UK Ministry of Defence in collaboration with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization NATO. On 17 November, selected start-up tech companies and inventors will get the chance to pitch directly to UK and US military leaders for a $1-million investment to fast-track their ideas for cutting-edge Space innovations.
