The EIC created a new Story 30 August 2021

The European Innovation Council Business Acceleration Services launches its brand-new exclusive Planet.tech challenge. This is a great opportunity for EIC SMEs to enhance cooperation with large corporates and co-create innovative solutions to a number of pre-determined challenges related to the European Green Deal, the European Commission roadmap to make EU’s economy sustainable.

Vital signs of the planet show us that global warming and climate change are a reality. The main cause is greenhouse gas emissions, and more specifically the CO2 ones. Part of the European Innovation Council (EIC), the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) initiative is developing ways of reducing carbon emissions.
On 3 and 4 June 2020 the European Innovation Council celebrated the launched of a brand-new initiative specifically focused on the EU Green Deal. The EIC Planet.tech brings together EIC-backed start-ups/scale-ups with four large corporates, namely AB inBev, DEME, Nestle and P&G, with the objective to develop a number of impactful Proof of Concepts (PoC).

On 10-11 November 2020 the EIC organised an Investor Day dedicated to the EU Green Deal, bringing together more than 100 active participants during the two days, out of which more than 40 investors.
We are going to solidify the phrase “climate action is a business case” and aim to lower the carbon footprint of Europe’s most innovative startups and scaleups. On 29 September 2021, the European Innovation Council (EIC) and its Greenhouse Gas initiative offered a webinar on Green Electricity meant to shed a more in-depth view on the most important aspects and benefits of green electricity and how it’s affecting the planet positively.
