The European Innovation Council pilot's funded technology company CELLINK presented the results for the second quarter of fiscal year 2018/2019, showing continued growth profit. The company shows increased net sales, profit, acquisitions and new products on the way to fuel an active and healthy global community of users and resellers.
CELLINK has entered in an agreement with the owners of cytena GmbH to acquire all cytena shares for a purchase price of 30.25 M€. The Freiburg, Germany – based venture specialises in single-cell printing technology. The deal will expand Cellink’s capabilities in both pharma and cosmetics.
European Innovation Council pilot's funded podcast company Acast secures a 25 million € quasi-equity financing agreement with the European Investment Bank. As well as independent podcasts, Acast also looks after the audio content of larger publishers, such as the Financial Times, the Guardian, Vogue, Aftonbladet and Billboard.

Since 4 June 2020, the Swedish biotech company Idogen AB is traded on Nasdaq First North Growth Market. The traditional bell ringing was skipped due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but the event was featured on the Nasdaq trading floor at Times Square in New York. Idogen AB develops tolerogenic cell therapies to prevent the patient’s immune system from attacking biological agents, transplanted organs or the body’s own cells or tissues.
In 2015, Cellink shook up the industry with its breakthrough universal bio ink, the very first on the market to be commercialised. The Gothenburg-based company offered a 3D printable bio ink, which is used to print organs and tissues. This allows medical tests to be carried out on human tissue instead of animals or humans. Last year, venture capital investors focused on digital health startups, rewarding mostly innovations with novel treatments for coronavirus or technologies to promote home care. So far, 2021 is following the same trend: the EIC already counts 5 startups raising Digital Health VC funding.
