The EU-Japan Centre for Industrial Cooperation is organising, on 4 March 2021, a webinar on practical business focusing on ‘How to utilise the EPA’- the EU-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement. In this session, the participants will discover the updates introduced in the agreement and how to make fair use of it by sharing previous experiences.

Registration for the webinar is available here.

The EU-Japan Centre for Industrial Cooperation is a unique venture between the European Commission (Directorate-General for Growth - Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs) and the Japanese Government (Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry) (METI). The non-profit organisation aims to enhance all forms of industrial, trade, and investment cooperation between Japan and the EU and strengthen the technological capabilities and competitiveness of the European and Japanese industrial systems.

The EPA (EU-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement) is in action since February 2019. Now, two years later, the EU and Japan have made some updates to facilitate its use by any interested companies. Besides this, a few companies have encountered challenges when doing exports between Japan and the EU. The “How to utilise the EPA” webinar intends to provide practical business advice in a Q&A format to support companies on the abovementioned topics.

The session will have speakers from the Tokyo Kyodo Accounting Office (TKAO), which has an EPA consultation desk commissioned by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) – and from the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Taxation and the Customs Union (DG TAXUD).
