The European Innovation Council (EIC) is showcasing some of its best projects at the EIC Investor Day on Software & Hardware in Lisbon. Join us on October 31st, 10h00 CET (09h00 GMT), one day before Web Summit, for a full day of pitching sessions and one-to-one meetings, with plenty of networking opportunities, roundtables, and workshops.

 

Are you looking for investment opportunities in the tech sector? If so, the EIC Investor Day on Software & Hardware in Lisbon is your chance to get to know some of the EIC’s top software and hardware technologies.

On the week of Web Summit, the EIC is collaborating with Startup Lisboa to showcase a selection of EIC innovators at Microsoft’s Lisbon venue. These companies will get the chance to pitch to some of the most qualified European investors backing software and hardware companies.

Tens of thousands of people, including investors, innovators, journalists, and tech sector giants from all over the globe, head to Lisbon every year to be a part of Web Summit. This EIC event will be an added reason for investors to travel to the city and get to know the potential of the EIC companies.

Who can join? 

The EIC is looking for qualified investors with a history in backing software and hardware solutions, such as Venture Capitalists, Corporate VCs, Family Offices, Angel Investors, etc. 

The jury panel will include representatives from Capricorn Partners, LIFTT, Armilar Venture Partners, G-Force, Techcelerator, Lunar Ventures and Indico Capital.

Which companies will participate?

Equal1

Equal1 will be the first company to commercialise quantum computing using a quantum-on-chip approach where all qubits, control electronics, read-out and error correction is on the same integrated quantum processor. We are already far along the path, having three successful test chips, a world-leading team and a strong patent portfolio.

They are on a series A funding round, raising 50M€.

 

UPMEM

UPMEM a rare EU fabless semiconductor company, designs and sell an ultra-efficient processing accelerator for analytics and AI applications in the datacenter and edge. UPMEM unique processing-in-memory solution attracts top-tier global application owners and cloud players, and opens the path for reducing datacenters energy consumption by 20%.

They are on a series B funding round, raising 5M€.

 

Compek Solutions

Comptek Solutions is the expert in III-V compound semiconductor quantum surface engineering. Their solution, Kontrox, allows up to 98% reduction of interface defect state density compared to the industry's standard method. Kontrox provides higher gate voltages, better quantum efficiency and lower leak currents. Its implementation is simple and does not require extensive equipment modifications.

They are on a series A funding round, raising 5M€.

 

Multiverse Computing

Multiverse Computing is a quantum software company delivering value for industry. They tackle high-value, open problems in finance, manufacturing, energy management, pharmaceuticals, and cybersecurity using their quantum and quantum-inspired SaaS toolbox: Singularity. They don’t defocus as they actually focus on 4 problems: Optimization, Machine Learning, Stochastic problems and Simulation. These 4 problems happen across all verticals, and the core algorithms are all the same: an optimization problem, for example, can happen in Finance and also in Energy. They only tweak the core algorithm with minimum effort to apply it to another industry. That is why their Software is highly scalable. Singularity is also intended for the masses and hence they serve all users – including those with low technical knowledge – which want to use out-of-the-box solutions for their use-cases.

They are on a series A funding round, raising 10M€.
 

 

ARXUM

ARXUM® provides an advanced, industrial blockchain infrastructure and a versatile middleware which reduces complexity to interconnect existing IT Systems with blockchain based business logic. The B2B solution applied in various industries, such as pharma and life science documentation, tracking of carbon compensations or recycling materials.

They are on a series A funding round, raising 2M€.

 

Predisurge

Predisurge develops and brings to the market a digital predictive simulation platform for cardiovascular interventions.

They are on a series A funding round, raising 7M€.

 

VOISEED

VOISEED ‘s mission is to globalize voice content in any language, simplifying the audio production and dubbing processes for publishers, brands, service providers and recording studios. They want to be the go-to service provider for synthetic emotional speech.

They are on a series A funding round, raising 3M€.

 

OrbitalAds

OrbitalAds is a Spanish SaaS helping advertisers optimise Paid Search ads (GoogleAds and Microsoft Ads). The service is used both by advertising agencies and by corporates managing their campaigns internally to save time in managing the campaigns (up to 40%) and improve performance (up to 20%). It works in any language and is powered by proprietary Natural Language Processing algorithms.

They are on a series A funding round, raising 1M€.

 

CrayoNano

CrayoNano is a next generation semiconductor company. They specialize in nanotechnology that will enable a more sustainable and healthier life for tomorrow. CrayoNano's first product is a high-quality UV-C LED semiconductor component used in the fast-growing water, air and surface disinfection markets. 

They are on a series B funding round, raising 5M€. 

 

Lightspace Technologies

Lighspace is developing enabling technologies for the next generation of Augmented Reality.

They are on a series A funding round, raising 10M€.
 

SAALG

SAALG is a Barcelona-Based startup specialize on geotechnical software development to make construction more sustainable, efficient, and safer by predicting ground behavior in real-time. Since 2016 we have been implementing our software DAARWIN across multiple projects around the world working closely with key players of the construction industry.

They are on a series A funding round, raising 1M€.

 

Sparrow Quantum

Sparrow Quantum is a quantum start-up with a protected disruptive technology for single-photons. No matter which technology wins the race to realize the first quantum computer there will be a need for single-photons. Either as bits in a photonic quantum computer or as the only way of transferring quantum information across geographical distances.

They are on a series A funding round, raising 5M€.

 

SiPearl

SiPearl is designing the high-performance, low-power microprocessor for European exascale supercomputers. This new generation of microprocessors will enable Europe to set out its technological sovereignty in strategic high-performance computing (HPC) markets such as artificial intelligence, medical research or climate modelling. The company is working in close collaboration with its 27 partners from the European Processor Initiative (EPI) consortium - leading names from the scientific community, supercomputing centres and industry - which are its stakeholders, future clients and end-users. SiPearl employs more than 100 people in France (Maisons-Laffitte, Grenoble, Massy, Sophia Antipolis), Germany (Duisburg) and Spain (Barcelona).

They are on a series A funding round, raising 100M€, with a minimum ticket of 5M€.

The Ecosystem Partnerships and Co-Investment Support Programme is expanding the EIC’s Business Acceleration Services (BAS) by creating a network of specialized, sector-focused partners that can help innovators access the services they need. It is also dedicated to promoting co-investment along with the EIC Fund, by preparing beneficiaries to interact with investors and connecting them through matchmaking and dedicated events.
