News: Meet the 10 EIC finalists who will pitch at the European Venture Contest

The EIC pilot has partnered with TechTour for five exclusive online pitching sessions on Healthtech, Digital Technologies and CleanTech between 11-13th November. 40 companies funded by the EIC Pilot participated in the TechTour ePitch, but only 10 winners were selected. The finalists will try to come out on top at the European Venture Contest in Essen, on the 9-10 December.

 

The TechTour Contest Final will be held at a unique venue, the Zollverein Unesco World Heritage, and will present more than 175 European innovative companies in the High-technology sectors. The 10 EIC finalists will square off again on stage, pitching in front of an international audience of investors, key corporates and innovation experts. 

 

The finalists on Healtech



Cellix Limited: The company is providing tailored solutions customised for applications in the food & beverage, biotech and agri-biotech, and health & personalized medicine industries. 

Brainomix: The start-up originally formed from a group at Oxford University, is using AI and Deep Learning to globally transform how physicians interpret brain images to optimise patient selection for life saving treatment.



EyeFree Assisting Communication: The company has developed the EyeControl, an innovative communication device for individuals with locked-in syndrome. The company aims to restore a sense of independence for locked-in patients by providing a medium through which individuals who have lost the ability to speak can once again communicate with caregivers and loved ones.



ImmunoBiology: Pneumococcal disease, caused by the pathogenic bacteria Streptococcus pneumoniae, is a major cause of mortality in the young and elderly. ImmunoBiology’s (ImmBio) platform technology has been used to create a pneumococcal vaccine called PnuBioVa (PBV) that aims to address the burden of the disease by offering protection against 100% of the pneumococcal strains.



Inflection Biosciences: The EIC-funded company based in Dublin and London, is developing small molecule therapeutics for the treatment of cancer. The company's pipeline of highly innovative cancer treatments were licensed from the Spanish National Cancer Research Centre (CNIO).

 

Digital Technologies



OKO Finance Ltd: OKO uses satellite information to define risk and create insurance products for farmers in emerging markets.

EnduroSat: The company designs, builds and operates class-leading NanoSats for a range of commercial, exploration and science missions. EnduroSat focus on inter-satellite connectivity and space data applications. 

RebelRoam: RebelRoam is disrupting passenger connectivity by making Wi-Fi faster for travellers and less expensive for transportation companies around the world.

 

CleanTech 



Schrott 24 Gmbh: The Schrott24 Platform is an intelligent online marketplace that digitises and automates large parts of the industry for scrap metal and recycled metals. Schrott24 is disrupting the industry, allowing it to deliver a sustainable, circular economy for raw materials in the EU.

SolarGaps: SolarGaps smart solar blinds is world’s first solution allowing most of the households and commercial buildings to easily utilize window area for efficient green energy generation thus decreasing electricity bill and CO2 emissions.
