The TechTour Contest Final took place on 10-11 December in Essen and showcased more than 125 companies pitching in front of an international audience of investors, key corporates and innovation experts. 10 of them were EIC portfolio companies and they achieved very good results: they won four of the pitching sessions and qualified for the Finalist Pitch Battle.

Meet the winners:

EnduroSat: The company designs, builds and operates class-leading NanoSats for a range of commercial, exploration and science missions. EnduroSat has a focus on inter-satellite connectivity and space data applications. In the Finalist Pitch Battle, EnduroSat won the audience award and the second place in the Digital tech category.

After the contest, Raycho Raychev, CEO of the company pointed out that “thanks to the business acceleration tools and networking opportunities provided by the EU Commission, EnduroSat succeeded in scaling up their business and accessing new markets.”

Cellix Limited: The company is providing tailored solutions customised for applications in the food & beverage, biotech, agri-biotech, and health & personalized medicine industries. In the Finalist battle, Cellix Limited won the second place in the Healthcare category.

Vivienne Williams, CEO of Cellix Limited highly appreciates the opportunity offered by the Business Acceleration Services:

“Because of our successful SME Phase 2 Instrument grant (Inish Mini-Bar), we benefit of the business acceleration services and we are invited to apply to Corporate and Investor Days. Every company must apply to attend the events, and this is a good idea, as it ensures good quality events.  Overall, I have found all the events organised via the Business Acceleration Services to be of extremely high quality and very sector-focused, with excellent matching of the SMEs with relevant investors and potential collaborators or customers”, she added.

ImmunoBiology: Pneumococcal disease, caused by the pathogenic bacteria Streptococcus pneumoniae, is a major cause of mortality in the young and elderly. ImmunoBiology’s (ImmBio) platform technology has been used to create a pneumococcal vaccine called PnuBioVa (PBV) that aims to address the burden of the disease by offering protection against 100% of the pneumococcal strains.

CyanoGuard AG is a chemical technology company with innovative solutions for the detection of cyanide in a wide range of industries. The solutions allow both trained and untrained users to test liquid samples using a sensor that changes colour upon the presence of cyanide.

The European Venture Contest Final is the Europe's leading network and investment event for high-growth technological start-ups, venture capital investors and technological corporations. It offers an excellent opportunity for entrepreneurs to grow their businesses across borders and engage directly with Europe’s most active investors.

This event is promoted by the EIC pilot Business Acceleration Services, which include liaison to venture-capital programs, invitations to exclusive investor gatherings and other opportunities to explore new ways of financing.
