News: 7 EIC-funded startups will pitch their green solutions at the e-pitching event organised by Dealflow.eu

Dealflow.eu will host an e-pitching event on the 20th of May and 25th of May , showcasing some of the most promising EU backed sustainability startups. Seven SMEs from the EIC Fund portfolio will have the opportunity to showcase their innovations on Day 2, attract the attention of investors, and convince them of their merits for their next financing rounds. Discover their profiles in the EIC Community and learn more about this e-pitching. 

 

The e-pitching event on sustainability will take place digitally, on the 20th and 25 of May, from 3h to 5h pm (CET). At the event, selected early-stage sustainability startups will have 8 minutes to pitch in front of investors, followed by 4 minutes to Q&A.

On Day 2, the 25th of May (3 pm – 5 pm CET), companies from the EIC Fund portfolio will present their solutions. These businesses have been selected from over 10,000 applicants and receive up to €2.5m in grants. Furthermore, the EIC Fund will co-invest up to €15m alongside the investors in the next equity round. 

 

X1 Wind: X1 Wind's mission is to provide highly scalable solutions to reduce carbon emissions and provide affordable clean energy globally. In the last years, the Spanish startup has continued to develop its disruptive floating wind technology, completing the design of a fully functional part-scale demonstrator, putting together a team of experts with decades of experience in the offshore wind and marine sectors. 

Non-dilutive grant funding to date: €4.25M

 

KEYOU: The German startup KEYOU is putting its faith in hydrogen. KEYOU components can be integrated into new or existing combustion engines and enable the engine to run on hydrogen. The product defines a leap in terms of current capabilities and qualities and addresses a starting market alone - the bus and truck industry that has a volume of €350 bn.

KoalaLifter: KoalaLifter System created a disruptive lifting device that uses the Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) tower as support, having an autonomous self-climbing capability. As its name suggests, KoalaLifter climbs the same way a Koala does. It embraces the tower of the wind turbine just like this little animal embraces and climbs the trees. KoalaLifter can perform major correctives such as components exchanges (blade and components of the nacelle) and the turbine erection. These variants for maintenance and erection can also be transferred to the offshore market using a wave compensation platform.

Beridi: BERIDI is a spin-out company of Berenguer Ingenieros, founded in 2018, as the group's division specialized in the offshore wind energy sector. The Spanish company has patented a new floating technology that enables the safest and most efficient (time, costs and performance) installation of turbines in deep waters. ARCHIME3 is, to the best of our knowledge, the only technology today that will enable the installation of the largest turbines (15-20 MW) in deep waters efficiently and safely.

Brite Solar: Agriculture is one significant burden that lies on our planet, leading to great water consumption, energy and other resources that its production requires. With an expected increase in the world's population for the coming years, the impact on the environment can become impossible to withstand. Given the importance of making agriculture greener and more sustainable, Brite, an EIC-funded company from Greece, implements a project named PanePowerSW. The project's technology consists of a transparent solar panel glass that can generate clean energy while allowing light to shine through greenhouses windows. On the one hand, PanePowerSW's technology leads to a significant reduction of energy operating costs in greenhouses. On the other hand, it enables the growth of crops due to its transparent surface.

DazeTechnology: Daze Technology, an Italian high-tech startup, has developed DazePlug, the first autonomous conductive charging system for Electric Vehicles (EV) to automate EV recharge. Despite the wider availability of public charging stations, 90% of users are adopting and will still adopt home charging. DazePlug has a robotic connector placed on the ground and connected to an electrical power supply network and an on-board device installed under the car and directly related to the vehicle's battery. The off-board robot automatically reaches the plug and connects itself to the vehicle once the parking is completed, allowing the complete automation of the charging process through a simple plug&play socket kit, dramatically enhancing the user experience.

B4Plastics: B4Plastics is a bio-polymer architecture company committed to making greener plastics. B4P Polymers have beaten records in strength versus degradation: despite being completely biodegradable in a controlled way ranging from years to even days, the biopolymers are designed for the highest mechanical strength, outcompeting fossil materials traditional polyesters and polyamides. The Belgian startup has gained a unique position to change the status quo of the plastics economy, already having market-leading customers in the markets of consumer goods, agricultural products and outdoor equipment. B4P Polymers, wholly aligned with the European Green Deal, are becoming game-changers in the plastic industry with a balance in cost, performance, and ecology.
