EIC ePitching on Agritech: Six EIC companies are planting their seed for future success!

On 8 April 2020 12.00-1.30 pm (CET) six EIC-backed SMEs will have the chance to show their Agritech solutions during our EIC ePitching session. They will be pitching to investors from BayWa r.e. Energy Ventures GmbH, Capagro, Céréa Partenaire and KnowledgeHub.

The EU's agricultural industry has a gross value added of over EUR 180 billion. It’s no wonder that many innovative SMEs are creating innovative Agritech solutions and bringing them to the market. The importance of investing in agriculture technologies today is even more crucial during this pandemic outbreak. Curious to find out how our six companies are planning to plant their seed for future success? Look no further.

 

AgroSustain is a Swiss company that develops and brings to market effective, natural fungicides to replace currently available conventional products. The products of AgroSustain can be used for protecting fresh produce, e.g., berries, fruits, and vegetables in the field and directly after the harvest prior or storage or shipment.

 

Israeli company Beewise Technologies LTD developed BeeHome, a patent-protected modular commercial apiary that automates beekeeping powered by AI. The BeeHome platform consists of hardware and software solution that fully automates beekeeping and honey production and optimizes pollination. The hardware and software architecture enables BeeHome to act upon information, thus taking care of the individual needs of each bee colony, preventing and mitigating of potential problems before they become detrimental to the health of the colony.

 

eggXYt’s mission is to enable a sustainable future in the chicken industry. eggXYt, operating from Israel, developed their CRISPR based technology, which allows non-invasive pre-incubation sex detection in chicken eggs - saving 8 billion male chicks from being unnecessarily hatched and disposed of each year, saving the industry billions of dollars and adding 8 billion eggs to the global supply

 

Austrian start-up Evologic is using the platform technology to produce microbial biostimulants and biopesticides which are sold to seed distributors. They apply the product to the seeds and sell the upgraded seeds to farmers. To fill Evologic´s product pipeline, Evologic is collaborating with third parties with product IP on biostimulants or biopesticides.

 

Poland’s Smart Soft Solutions sp. Zo o.o  developed ThermoEye, a distributed, contactless IoT system for pig temperature monitoring. ThermoEye detects fever at early stage and helps farmers to protect herds in alternative, ecological friendly way without preventive antibiotics. The farmers' increase productivity while lowering drugs use. The vets obtains new remote tools for herd monitoring. The end customers receive antibiotic-free pork.

 

Xpectraltek Lda. is a Portuguese tech company with a specialized team focused on the development of Spectral Imaging and Diagnostic Solutions for agriculture, Industry & Cultural Heritage, allowing to see beyond the human eye and learn from it.
