After consolidating their business in Europe, HumanITcare is expanding their reach to Brazil, in an attempt to continue growing in the Latin American market. The Spanish company, whose technology aims to help professionals and patients monitor their health remotely, has located their new operation center in the city of São Paulo.

HumanITcare has experienced exponential growth in the health-tech market since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, working now with more than 30 hospitals in Europe, and also with clinics and home care companies. According to the North American’s International Trade Administration, Brazil is the largest healthcare market in Latin America (LATAM). With this in mind, and hoping to continue their growth, the company has kicked-off its expansion in São Paulo, Brazil, with a strongly lead team and a focus on business development.

The remote patient monitoring solution, provided by HumanITcare, delivers leading remote care, combining connected medical devices, telemedicine, and precise early warning alerts by using artificial intelligence (AI). The Spanish company will work with healthcare institutions so they can use their platform to provide remote care to their patients with different chronic diseases. Moreover, with their application programming interface (API), HumanITcare can connect through other existing telemedicine platforms and be a partner for healthcare insurance companies and other telemedicine or healthcare providers.

We had a chance of discussing this international endeavour with Nuria Pastor, CEO of HumanITcare, and got to know what are the actions being taken by the company in Brazil: “HumanITcare has started to establish connections with the biggest hospitals and healthcare insurance companies with the purpose of bringing health to patients’ homes. HumanITcare is collaborating with the EIT Health Bridgehead program, together with the University of Barcelona, and leveraging their connections with Brazil.”. Nuria also talked about further company expansion: “HumanITcare is already working with home care centers in Chile and Colombia. Our landing in São Paulo will be the opportunity to shape the LATAM market in remote care.

HumanITcare received a Phase 1 grant and full blended financing from the European Innovation Council to work on their disruptive platform, based on AI, that can collect data from any given device, adapt itself for the needs of the patients and integrate information into the patients’ Electronic Health Records.
