The Peer-Learning Activities in the Entrepreneurship Education & Women’s Entrepreneurship project, funded by the COSME Programme, started in 2018 and came to an end in 2021. The project delivered two reports with recommendations on these two sectors. After consulting experts from all over Europe, recommendations were prepared in order to foster greater entrepreneurship education and increase women’s participation in entrepreneurship in Europe.

The main objective of the Peer-Learning Activities in Entrepreneurship Education and in Women’s Entrepreneurship project was to help increase coordination between interested parties and improve strategies to promote entrepreneurship in education and amongst women. In this way, they have created two reports that are developed around five key actions:

  • A Guide to Fostering Entrepreneurship Education
  • A Guide to Fostering Women’s Entrepreneurship

Entrepreneurship Education

According to the conclusions reached in this report, entrepreneurship education (EE) can unleash the potential of Europeans to master climate change and digitisation and build a more resilient society.

As five key actions to take upon, they have listed the following:

  • develop EE competence of leaders and teachers in education institutions
  • encourage cooperation of EE stakeholders in policies and curricula
  • communicate what EE is and what benefits it brings
  • measure and compare EE practice and impact in pan-European research
  • share EE knowledge and experience to enhance teaching and learning

Women’s Entrepreneurship

The project put emphasis on identifying specific actions that could help existing and would-be women entrepreneurs to create and run competitive businesses. In the report it is advocated that sustainable, balanced and inclusive growth can be achieved thanks to women's economic empowerment and entrepreneurship.

Here are their five summary recommendations:

  • raise awareness about women entrepreneurship (WE) and acknowledge the importance of women entrepreneurs
  • ensure life-long entrepreneurial learning, especially for women
  • improve access to finance for women entrepreneurs
  • build a pan-European umbrella organisation and community for WE
  • collect and analyse data about WE
