Morning
EUROPEAN GREEN DEAL & Just Transition
The day will start early, with different plenary sessions. If you would like to learn more about the European Green Deal, don’t miss this panel. The speakers will take an in-depth look at the research and innovation contribution to the European Green Deal and the recovery. It will be future-oriented and take into account the youth perspective with a special focus on climate, ocean and biodiversity.
Building the new European Innovation Council: Putting Europe at the forefront of Deep Tech and Breakthrough Innovation
Amidst a turbulent pandemic era, the need to support deeptech research and innovative SMEs is more important than ever for Europe to emerge stronger from the crisis. The Recovery Plan for Europe is destined to heal some of the 'wounds' left by the pandemic outbreak. During this session at the EIC Hub, panelists and participants will discuss how the European Innovation Council and its support for breakthrough and impactful innovations should differentiate Europe from other regions and make it a leader for next generation technologies and companies based on sustainability, digitalisation and deep tech.
Afternoon
From world class SCIENCE to world beating COMPANIES
At the beginning of the afternoon, at the EIC Hub you will find a busy roundtable. The speakers will discuss how the European Innovation Council can address the gap between research and deeptech-driven innovation at a pan-European level. Europe is on the right track in the creation of excellence in science and innovation. However, there is work to do in transforming world-class science into world-beating companies. Voices from the future: Pathfinder projects stories, people, visions
The first day will finish with success stories from Pathfinder beneficiaries, sharing their path from research to market. The session will start with an interview to the EIC Programme Manager (PM) Iordanis Arzimanoglou on the important of this role to accelerate the path from research to innovation. A concrete example will be discussed by Johannes Heitz and Emmanuel Stratakis based on their experience in the LiNaBioFluid and LaserImplant FET-Open projects. The panel will include videos on more Pathfinder projects and it’s also a contribution to the Future Tech Week 2020 http://futuretechweek.fetfx.eu/.
