Why Corporate Venturing is key to speed innovation? How do large corporations benefit from collaborating with SMEs/Startups? And what is the role of the European Innovation Council (EIC) in fostering this collaboration? All these and other questions will be on the table for discussion by four high level experts at the European R&I Days next 25th September 2019 in Brussels.

Large firms and high innovative small companies are looking to team up in their constant race for innovation and growth with the expectation of mutual benefits.

For many growing companies, finding the right strategic corporate partner can be a straightforward way to access larger deals, accelerate market penetration, tap into global distribution and marketing channels, and gain time to focus on the critical activities. At the same time, large corporates benefit from new ideas challenging their existing business models; a way to gain access to state-of-the-art innovation while saving time and money.

The "EIC Corporate Days" initiative designed and developed by the EIC Business Acceleration Services has put into practice the HLG recommendation with outstanding results. Meanwhile, there is in Europe and worldwide an increasing number of collaborative schemes aiming to bring “the Davids and the Goliaths” together via different tools: Corporate Venture Capital (CVCs), Venturing client models, accelerators, incubators, strategic partnerships, challenge prizes, co-creation programmes and others.

It seems we are living in the Golden age of Corporate Venturing, yet in a fast-changing environment there are many questions and challenges to be faced: What is the best way for large corporations and innovative SMEs to work together? What is the role of VCs in this business? How do you measure the results? What are the latest and future trends in Europe and worldwide? And which role does and will the EIC play in the future?

All these and other questions will be on the table for discussion by four high level experts: Catalina Balseiro (Suez), Priya Guha (Merian Ventures), Javier Gonzalez (Acciona) and Mark Redshaw (Evonik), interacting with the audience during the session "EIC matching Corporates and innovative SMEs/Startups" at the European R&I Days next 25th September 2019 in Brussels.

The event will be web streamed live from 14h45 to 15h45 at "European R&I Days web". Follow #RiDaysEU to find out how you can join the discussion on Slido.
