On 18 September, six companies in the chemicals industry supported by the European Innovation Council (EIC) pilot, pitched their innovative ideas via webcam to four investors during the first e-pitching session of the year.

A number of investors in the chemicals sector attended: Solvay, DOW, EVONIK and BASF.

The SMEs pitching were: Adbiocomposites, Pewas, SilicoLife, Ray Technique, Gr3n Recycling and RadiSurf

The companies were given five minutes to pitch, discuss and clarify their innovative ideas. This was followed by a Q&A session allowing the investors to identify how each company matches with their specific investment criteria.

Jan Horvath, Managing Director of SME company PEWAS commented on the e-pitching format: “Not only it is a great platform to e-meet with relevant industry leaders, potential investors, and cooperating entities, but also a very peculiar form to experience and practice how to get your business mission across. I recommend any SME to participate and get the most out of it.”

Joost Waeterloos - Corporate Venturing at DOW made special mention of the professionalism of the event, describing it as, “a well organised event, time well spent”.

Investor Thierry Piret from Solvay Ventures: “best e-pitching session I have attended”

Our next e-pitching will include EIC funded companies working in the sector of renewable energy. If you would like to get involved with the next e-pitching session the deadline is 22 September.
