EIC OTF Workshop: The European Delegation to BIO 2022, ready to elevate the future of the biotech industry

On 26 April 2022, the European Innovation Council (EIC) successfully hosted an online preparatory workshop for the promising delegation of the European companies that will exhibit impactful solutions at BIO International Convention 2022 in San Diego, USA.

 

Under the EIC Overseas Trade Fairs (OTF) Programme 2.0, the aim of the workshop was to support the best 20 European SMEs, start-ups and scale-ups in biotechnology sector throughout their preparation prior to the trade fair. The selected participants gained precious insights on the current market trends, regulatory environment, as well as entrepreneurial culture of the economic region of the USA from high-level experts and business leaders.

During the workshop, the European companies seized the opportunity to network and learn how to establish strategic business collaborations with international counterparts. 

The agenda included briefing sessions regarding practical aspects of the EIC OTF Programme 2.0 (logistics, customised and standard services offered)  to guarantee a successful business mission. In attendance were guest speakers, who covered crucial topics regarding BIO. 

Specifically, Adela Wilson, Director of Sales Strategy & Key Accounts, Events & Industry Programs at BIO, informed the delegation on the unlimited networking, programming and partnering opportunities of the leading tradeshow. In addition, Charudutt Shah, Chief Business Officer at Genomtec, as well as selected participant in OTF Programme 2.0 and BIO, shared his valuable experience, offering tips for outstanding pitch preparation.

The BIO International Convention 202will be held as an in-person event from June 13 to June 16 in San Diego, USA. It represents more than 1,100 biotechnology companies, academic institutions, biotechnology centres and related organisations across the United States and in more than 30 countries. BIO brings together a wide spectrum of life science and application, including drug discovery, biomanufacturing, genomics, biofuels, nanotechnology and cell therapy.

The prestigious trade fair entails many interactive sessions and unparalleled networking opportunities with 16,000+ attendees from 67 countries, combining world premieres and live demonstrations of products with exciting business partnerships.
